Balsam

Balsam herb is the resin that is taken from a tree and which possesses healing and soothing properties. Balsam is also referred to as balsamic. Some of the trees that this resin is taken from are myrrh, balsam of Gilead and balsam of tolu.

Bitters

Bitter herbs are referred to as bitter tonics and they are initially utilized in aiding digestion as well as for loss of appetite. They are effective in promoting the free flow of digestive and saliva fluids. These medicinal herbs can also increase the fluid secretion of the mucous membranes. The herbs are dandelion, balamy, hops, chamomile, wormwood, barberry, yellow root, gentian, blessed thistle, bayberry, blackhaw and golden seal.
