Herb classifications, also referred to as medicinal properties are found in medicinal plants to aid in preventative and curative actions of various diseases. Beginning with letter E are the following definitions of the actions of these medicinal herbs.
Emetic herbs are used to induce vomiting. These herbs are lobelia, ipeca, bloodroot, pokeroot, helonias, blessed thistle and vervain.
Emmenagogue herbs are used to promote menstruation. These herbs are chamomile, black cohosh, blue cohosh, blessed thistle, ginger, fenugreek, golden seal, St. John's wort, yarrow, motherwort, cramp bark, calendula, helonias, squawvine, cumin, garlic, fennel seed, lavender and lemon balm.
