Herb classifications, also referred to as medicinal properties are found in medicinal plants to aid in preventative and curative actions of various diseases. Beginning with letter P are the following definitions of the actions of these medicinal herbs.
Parturient herbs are used to encourage labor or to ease childbirth. These herbs are motherwort, aniseed, skullcap, raspberry, false unicorn, blue cohosh and water plantain.
Pectoral herbs are used to strengthen and treat ailments of the lungs and chest areas. These herbs are good for respiratory conditions. They are leaf of life, mullein, angelica, licorice, lobelia, garlic, hyssop, marshmallow, couch grass, coltsfoot, anise, wild cherry bark, golden seal, and chickweed.

Purgative herbs are used to alleviate acute constipation. They are cascara sagrada, senna pods, dill seeds, peppermint, castor oil, chamomile, buckthorn, aloe Vera, licorice, and sweet basil.
